Widening your vocabulary. Strengthening your accuracy and communicative skills.
Intermediate Spanish is a six-session course (42 weeks) designed for students who have completed the introductory courses
(or already have some basic proficiency in Spanish) and wish to
expand their skills: they are both a review and an expansion.
You can take these courses in almost any order.
These courses aim to further develop your vocabulary, enhance your listening and speaking skills,
and will prepare you for advanced intermediate classes
and/or conversation.
They are focused mainly, but not exclusevely, in one of the following main themes and topics:
- (A) Restaurantes, recetas y comidas
- (B) El medio ambiente, turismo, viajes, deportes
- (C) Aficiones (Hobbies), tiempo libre y pasatiempos
- (D) Inmigración mundial, los cambios en barrios y ciudades
- (E) Comercio, impuestos y economía
- (F) Cultura (tango, literatura, comida) y diversidad
And they are focused mainly in one of the following communication goals / grammatical topics:
- (A) Giving instructions, recommendations and advice
- (B) Talking about the possible (the what if...)
- (C) Expressing opinions, judgements and feelings about the present
- (D) Expressing opinions, judgements and feelings about the past
- (E) Nagging. Expressing hopes and wishes; fears and regrets
- (F) Talking about the yet to come, of purposes and reasons
PLUS a guided introduction to Spanish and/or Latin American literature.
